Mark your calendars, BAKE SALE!

March 31, 2010

I’ve been interested in participating in a bake sale for at least a year now, and I am BEYOND EXCITED that I finally found out that there is in fact one here, as I am pretty sure I don’t have many resources to organize such a thing.

However, Tami at Running With Tweezers does have those resources, and has indeed organized such a thing. Here are the details for the big day:

The Atlanta Food Bloggers Bake Sale, as stated on the above image is on Saturday, April 17 from 9AM-1PM. It will be held at the Cabbagetown Market, see below for the location on Google maps. Since parking can be hard to come by, Agave restaurant is kindly allowing bake sale goers to park in their lot, which is just south of the market. Oh, they’re also giving away $10 off coupons to anyone who makes a purchase, so you can have some tasty food with your baked goods.

I can tell you there are already confirmed donations of goodies, and that I will be contributing at least 2 or 3 kinds of cupcakes and some cookies…perhaps a new cupcake recipe will be making an appearance there before it appears on the blog (hint hint)!

All proceeds from the bake sale will go to Share Our Strength, a national hunger based charity, with several fundraisers including the Great American Bake Sale, from which we get this Food Blogger Bake Sale.

If you can’t make it out and wish to donate, or want any information on how to help participate with baking, head over to the page for the bake sale.

I will definitely be posting about this again the week of the sale, just so nobody forgets. You will be there. You cannot possibly miss out on food bloggers (especially this one, this is in the middle of Chinese Grand Prix weekend and you bet I’m up late before coming out for the bake sale the next morning, I’ll be loopy), baked goods, and helping others.
